Why people choose the SCCY CPX-2 Purple
Going with 9mm means cheap practice, easy-to-find ammo and a long list of proven defensive loads. It is the round most carriers settle on.
Every CPX-2 is double-action-only and hammer-fired. Each pull of the trigger cocks and drops the hammer, so the pull is long, around 9 pounds, and it is the same every shot. Nothing sits partly cocked, and if a round ever fails to fire you can simply pull the trigger again for a second strike.
There is no manual thumb safety on this one. The long, deliberate trigger pull does that job, the same idea as a double-action revolver, so you just draw and press.
Inside, SCCY uses its Roebuck Quad-Lock barrel system and a polymer frame around an aluminum chassis. The result is a pistol that stays light without feeling flimsy.
