The SCCY CPX-2 RD Black takes SCCY’s proven CPX-2 design and gives it a black frame. This one has a black frame, a 3.1″ barrel and holds 10 rounds in the magazine plus one in the chamber. It is small enough for pocket or appendix carry and still big enough to shoot well.
Black is the safe bet. It looks all business, it hides wear, and it never draws a second look when your shirt rides up.

9mm is the most popular handgun round in the country for good reason. Practice ammo is cheap, it is on every store shelf, and there are plenty of solid defensive loads to choose from.
Every CPX-2 is double-action-only and hammer-fired. Each pull of the trigger cocks and drops the hammer, so the pull is long, around 9 pounds, and it is the same every shot. Nothing sits partly cocked, and if a round ever fails to fire you can simply pull the trigger again for a second strike.
There is no manual thumb safety on this one. The long, deliberate trigger pull does that job, the same idea as a double-action revolver, so you just draw and press.
It comes from the factory with a Crimson Trace CTS-1500 red dot already mounted. With a dot you focus on the target, put the dot where you want the hit, and press. Most people shoot a dot faster and more accurately once they get used to it, and you skip the hassle of buying and mounting an optic yourself.
Inside, SCCY uses its Roebuck Quad-Lock barrel system and a polymer frame around an aluminum chassis. The result is a pistol that stays light without feeling flimsy.
Who the CPX-2 is for
The CPX-2 makes the most sense for first-time carriers, people on a budget, and anyone who wants a backup gun that disappears under a T-shirt. It is also a common pick for a vehicle or nightstand gun because it is simple to operate under stress.
Before you carry it, put a couple hundred rounds through it at the range so you know the trigger and how it groups. Pair it with a good holster that covers the trigger guard, and keep a spare magazine handy. Extra SCCY magazines are cheap and worth having.
